Shardblade Concepts by quargon Shardblade Concepts by quargon
I'm working on a portfolio for uni in which most pieces will be my own concepts of items/creatures/characters/environments from Brandon Sanderson's novel 'The Way of Kings' - which is a fantastic read!

These are my interpretations of the Shardblades that were mentioned

Nice! Not accurate to the description though, at least with Oathbringer. The "Unknown Shardbearer" blade is closer, though it lacks the wavy serrated edge near the hilt. The other thing to remember is that most Blades are over 5 feet long (Oathbringer is 6 from tip to pommel) and proportionately these don't look nearly long enough.

This is only important insofar as, if it's an assignment, the job is to interpret the description provided and then expand upon it. If you're going off on a different tangent, that's a risky strategy... the Art Director might like it, but odds are better they'll send it back and tell you to do it again.
